Fishing
The fishing along the Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach is fantastic. This is because the warmer waters of the Gulf Stream pass directly by the coast of South Carolina, and Gulf Stream waters means lots and lots of big hungry fish. The warmer waters mean that fishing is good from early spring all the way until the end of December. Plenty of time to catch all sorts of fish on all sorts of expeditions available in Myrtle Beach and elsewhere along the Grand Strand. Anglers regularly come up with hauls of king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, grouper, snapper, amerjack, barracuda, sea bass, and spadefish.
Captain Dick's
One of the largest charter fleets in the area, Captain Dicks offers so many different themed charters you will almost certainly have to come back a few times to feel that you've really explored fishing in Myrtle Beach. Here's a sampling of what Captain Dick has to offer.

- Sundown Special Fishing Trip. This trip lasts nine hours, so you better love fishing if you sign up for htis one. It lasts longer because you go further in search of bigger fish. You can rent an electric reel in case you land a big one.
- Sea Bass Fishing Adventure. This is a half-day trip that's economical and loads of fun at the same time. Rates are under $55, and you can pay even less if you're just going for the ride, no fishing. It's a great deal for groups or families, some of whom may want to fish and some of whom may just want to go out on the ocean and observe.
- All Day Gulf Stream trip.This is for serious fishing junkies only. All day means all day: eleven hours of fishing the deeper waters, for snapper, grouper, amberjack, and triggerfish. Price is still under $100, and even cheaper for kids.
- The Overnight Gulf Stream Fishing Expedition. You really have to be crazy for fishing to commit to 21 hours of fishing. It's a good idea to splurge for the optional electric reel on this trip, because you will get tired, guaranteed.
